image of man with bookSince 1953, the Rushworth Enterprise has had the special role of donating free literature to poor pastors worldwide. This has been done on a person-to-person basis, and is our main international media work. The result of our ministry has been amazing. We have marvelled at the way in which books and Bibles sent out have revolutionised the lives of very large numbers of people. However, we have also developed, over two decades, a role of giving books to people in prison overseas, with astonishing results. The response to this outreach has been almost beyond belief. You can read about this on the "ABOUT US" page. As a means of sharing news, we also send out some free literature to those who show an interest in our specialised work and ministry. You can read about the free literature we send out, and other free items, on the "FREEBIES" page, and also on the "NEWSLETTER" page.

The Rushworth Enterprise is a properly-constituted non-profit organisation, which is both a registered charity and a limited company. This means that we are able to trade in literature, audio cassettes, and video films, both as a publisher and also as a bookseller, but it also means that our finances are scrutinised very carefully. As a result of our standards (for almost half a century) our reputation is high. Our supporters have included some of the most eminent people of the twentieth century.

Why this name? What does the name "Rushworth" mean? Our name has a historical connection. Our founder in 1953 was David Rushworth-Smith, and his mother was a descendant of the ancient British Rushworth family (which began in West Yorkshire after the arrival of a Norman couple in 1068AD). But our ministry is named after John Rushworth MP, the famous author and literary benefactor of the 17th century, one of David's great-great uncles. You can read about him in the free leaflet mentioned on the "FREEBIES" page, or on the Rushworth Family web site www.rushworth.com.uk

Our founder has a website at www.rushworth-smith.com in which you can learn about his international ministry.
